OLD FASHIONED COCKTAIL RECIPE
As the name suggests, this cocktail is one of the oldest around. Made with four simple ingredients, this classic cocktail is pretty much the one that started it all. This boozy number is a sweeter alternative to whiskey on the rocks, and the added hint of orange gives it just the right balance. Traditionally made with a sugar cube, with modern concoctions replacing this for a heavy teaspoon of sugar syrup. Mmm!
PREPARATION:
- Add sugar cube or sugar syrup to an old fashioned glass
- Pour over a few dashes of Angostura bitters
- Crush the cube and muddle together until the sugar cube is dissolved (or mix with the sugar syrup)
- Add ice
- Pour over whiskey or bourbon
- Stir to combine
A simple twist of orange or a maraschino cherry work perfectly to bring this classic cocktail to life
